Inconel 713C

INCONEL 713C (UNS N07713) is a cast nickel-chromium superalloy hardened by a high volume fraction of gamma-prime Ni3Al. The 5.5 – 6.5 % aluminium and 0.5 – 1.0 % titanium are what produce that precipitate, and they are also why the alloy cannot be rolled or forged: it is melted and cast to shape. We supply it as remelt stock and cast bar for investment casters, not as wrought bar, plate or tube.

Why this grade

Behaviour that matters in service

  • Precipitation Hardened — A high volume fraction of gamma-prime Ni3Al is what gives 713C its creep strength, and it is why the alloy is specified for castings rather than for worked forms.
  • Cast Only — 713C is not forgeable and only poorly weldable. It is melted and cast, so we supply remelt stock and cast bar; asking for it as wrought bar or plate is a mismatch with the alloy, not a stock question.
  • Oxidation Resistance — 12 – 14 % chromium with 5.5 – 6.5 % aluminium forms a protective alumina scale, which carries the alloy to roughly 980 °C in oxidising service without a coating.
  • Low Ductility — Elongation is typically 3 – 8 %. The alloy trades ductility for creep strength, which matters when you write acceptance tests and when parts are handled before service.
Where it is used

Typical applications

  • Aerospace — Equiaxed investment-cast turbine blades and vanes for jet engines.
  • Industrial Gas Turbines — Nozzles and wheels where creep resistance matters more than ductility.
  • Turbochargers — Diesel turbocharger turbine wheels.
  • Tooling — Press forging dies, extrusion dies and die-casting dies that see high temperature.

What is Inconel 713C equivalent to?

Inconel 713C is listed as USA UNS N07713; Europe DIN 2.4671; China . A designation equivalent identifies the same alloy family across standards; the chemistry and mechanical limits printed on your purchase order still govern acceptance.

What are the physical properties of Inconel 713C?

Inconel 713C: Density 7.8 - 8.0 g/cm³; Melting Range 1260 - 1290 °C.

What forms can Hangbo supply Inconel 713C in?

Remelt stock and cast bar for investment casters; not supplied as wrought bar, plate or tube. We quote against your drawing and can peel, cut or machine to size.

Which standards is Inconel 713C certified to?

Routinely certified: Remelt stock and cast bar: AMS 5391. The edition named on your purchase order governs.

What documents come with Inconel 713C?

EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 carrying chemistry, mechanical results and heat-number traceability. SGS, BV, Intertek or your own inspector can witness testing before shipment.
