Behaviour that matters in service
- High-temperature strength — Designed for the hottest turbine blade rows, where 105 runs out of creep life.
- Vacuum melting — Normally vacuum melted and remelted to control the reactive aluminium and titanium content.
- Welding — Not a welded grade; components are cast, forged or machined.
Typical applications
- Turbine blades — HP turbine blade rows in aero engines.
- Forged close-tolerance parts — Blade and vane blanks machined from forged stock.
