Hastelloy X
HASTELLOY X (UNS N06002) is a solid-solution nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy built for furnace and combustion hardware rather than for wet corrosion. It keeps good strength and resists oxidation to about 1090 °C, with useful resistance to carburising and nitriding atmospheres, which is why furnace rolls, retorts and combustor components are its natural home.

Behaviour that matters in service
- Oxidation resistance to 1090 °C — The combination of chromium, iron and molybdenum holds an oxide scale in continuous service around 1090 °C, and the alloy is routinely used for furnace internals.
- Not for wet corrosion — X is a high-temperature alloy. In aqueous chloride or acid service it is the wrong choice, and C-276 or C-22 is what the duty calls for.
- Carburising atmospheres — Resists carburisation and nitriding better than the straight nickel-chromium grades, which matters in heat-treat furnaces with carbonaceous atmospheres.
Typical applications
- Aerospace — Combustion liners, transition ducts, flame holders, afterburners and tailpipes.
- Industrial Furnaces — Furnace rolls, retorts, muffles, baffles and catalyst support grids.
- Heat Treatment — Trays and fixtures that must resist oxidation and stay dimensionally stable under load.

What is Hastelloy X equivalent to?
Hastelloy X is listed as USA UNS N06002; Europe DIN 2.4665. A designation equivalent identifies the same alloy family across standards; the chemistry and mechanical limits printed on your purchase order still govern acceptance.
What are the physical properties of Hastelloy X?
Hastelloy X: Density 8.22 g/cm³; Melting Range 1260 - 1354 °C.
What forms can Hangbo supply Hastelloy X in?
Round bar, plate, sheet, strip and seamless tube. We quote against your drawing and can peel, cut or machine to size.
Which standards is Hastelloy X certified to?
Routinely certified: Round Bars: AMS 5754, ASTM B572; Plates / Sheets / Strip: AMS 5536, ASTM B435; Seamless Tube: ASTM B622. The edition named on your purchase order governs.
What documents come with Hastelloy X?
EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 carrying chemistry, mechanical results and heat-number traceability. SGS, BV, Intertek or your own inspector can witness testing before shipment.
